A Two Laptop Office?

The home office of a famous celebrity. While it's a bit more cluttered than I'd prefer, I like they dual Mac and PC laptops. Rather than having a dual monitor, why not have dual computers? (Not unlike my set-up at work.) Particularly if you use Synergy to sync them, this kind of set-up could be quite functional. (Although admittedly sometimes a bit confusing as you switch from one system to the other. Something I'm sure you could get used to over time.)

After playing with Lauren's new MacBook on Monday, this kind of set-up holds a lot of appeal. It would also work nicely if you wanted a dual monitor set-up in a compact space. Running a MacBook and a tablet PC in parallel with Synergy sounds like a perfect combination. You could use the keyboard and multi-touch trackpad on the Mac to control the set-up, allowing you to keep the tablet in slate mode and giving you the best of both worlds.

If you're like me and have an external monitor, you could add in a KVM switch to switch the monitor between the two systems and you'd be all set. Maybe two laptops really are the new minimum?
