Happy Father's Day
(Dad and me at the Grand Canyon on our 30-day trip across the country in 2005.)
Wishing all the dad's out there a Happy Father's Day. Many special thanks to my dad for setting such a great example of what it means to be a wonder father, a devoted husband, and loving son, and fantastic grandpa.
With news of Tim Russert's passing on Friday, it seems appropriate to mention his books about fathers -- Wisdom of Our Fathers and Big Russ and Me. Please keep Russert's family in your thoughts and prayers -- his son just lost a father and his father (Big Russ) just lost a son.
Here is a touching interview of Tim Russert and his dad on Father's Day four years ago. (HT Karuna)
A couple other father's to remember in your thoughts and prayers include Steven Curtis Chapman and John Skees. This is their first Father's Day since losing their daughters. I am sure today will be particularly tough for them.
And don't forget to remember all the fathers in your own family today and let them know how much you love and appreciate them.
P.S. -- Leo Babauta shares why he loves being a dad.
