100 Things Your Kids May Never Know About

This list really makes me feel old. (I was just talking about "stick" presentation pointers with my parents a few days ago.)

There are some things in this world that will never be forgotten, this week’s 40th anniversary of the moon landing for one. But Moore’s Law and our ever-increasing quest for simpler, smaller, faster and better widgets and thingamabobs will always ensure that some of the technology we grew up with will not be passed down the line to the next generation of geeks.

That is, of course, unless we tell them all about the good old days of modems and typewriters, slide rules and encyclopedias …

Read the list and see how old young you feel.

Mail order catalogues didn't make the list... I remember loving to go through those, now I laugh and wonder why they waste the paper...

What a weird list! I mean, NCSA Mosiac is post-college for me. Whereas slide rules had already been obsoleted by calculators when I was in elementary school.

(Weren't Marathon bars a US candy as well? I certainly seem to remember them, and I don't remember them as Snickers clones....)

Marathon bars were most definitely not snickers clones. They were longish and flat and laced together - chocolate and caramel.
