Travel to Learn Social Science

"Travel is the starting point of learning social science." -- Tyler Cowen

This was certainly true for me.  It was by traveling to the developing world and seeing the stark contrasts in standards of living around the world that I became interested in economics and switched careers from engineering.  I'm learning a tremendous amount in my PhD program, but traveling has by far been my best education.

Traveling won't only teach you social science, it will teach you about life too!
