Today would have been the 108th birthday of Friedrich August Hayek, one of my all-time favorite economists. (He and Milton Friedman top my list.) Hayek was the winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1974, one of the most influential economists of the 20th century, a brilliant and versatile academic making tremendous insights in a wide variety of fields, and a tremendous voice for the cause of liberty.
Read much more on Hayek here and see this great collection of Hayek links.
Today happens to be my friend Gary's birthday too. Happy birthday, to both!
