First Triya, now Marek. I just got home a bit ago from dropping Marek off at the airport. He is flying back to Prague and, as I mentioned before, will be transferring to the University of Michigan this fall.
Marek and I grabbed dinner on the way and his flight was delayed by an hour, so we hung out at the airport for awhile before he had to go through security. On Friday night, Professor Iannaccone and the rest of the Center for the Economic Study of Religion (CESR) staff had a going away party for Marek. We had dinner at Sakoontra (Thai food) and the went out for karaoke afterwards. We surprised Marek with a GMU sweatshirt, a framed picture of our group, and a couple photos of him and the ladies (taken at the CESR end-of-the-year party).
Marek will be deeply missed by all.
