If the World's Population Were Reduced to 100

This is a wonderfully well-done flash presentation of the world's demographics:

If we could turn the population of the earth into a small community of 100 people, keeping the same proportions we have today, it would be something like this...


Really makes you stop and think. I believe watching this will help explain why I feel such a strong calling to get involved in economic development.

Interestingly:

It says 3 people have internet, and 8 people are in North America.

If we assume that only people in USA have access to internet, then 3/8 people in the USA have access to internet.

These stats are propbably outdated, I assume they would make sense somewhere 1998, which is almost a decade back.

I wonder what todays figures look like, because in most countries it seems that rich poor gap is increasing.
