DC for CeCe!

Sabrina, a friend of mine from Orlando, has a mother (CeCe) who had a double-lung transplant on November 16th, 2005. CeCe's recovery has been progressing very well, but she now faces extremely high medical costs (~ $1,500/month) for her post-treatment recovery. CeCe's son, David, and two of his sons (ages 5 and 6) are preparing a 320-mile bike journey from Pittsburgh to DC to raise money for his mom from June 15th -- June 21st.

Sabrina sent me a copy of David's support letter and I got permission from him to share it and see if anyone reading my blog would be interested in contributing.

Here's what David had to say:

Pittsburgh to D.C.
A Fund Raising Bike Adventure

On November 16th, my mother, Cecilia “CeCe” Kraning, received a double lung transplant. As part of an ongoing effort to raise funds for post operative expenses such as anti-rejection medications (which currently cost about $1500 per month), my sons came up with the idea of taking a bicycle ride down the Great Allegheny Passage rail trail & the C & O Canal Towpath.

Our “D.C. for CeCe” ride is scheduled for June 15th - June 21st. My sons, Allen (5) & Max (6), will be joining me on this adventure. We will begin in Pittsburgh & end at the National Mall in Washington D.C ~ riding about 50 miles per day & camping each night.

Making a donation is easy. At this time we are asking for pledges for donations to CeCe’s transplant fund - maybe just a few cents for every mile that we ride.
If we survive the trip, it will total 320 miles.
($.05 per mile = $16, $.10 per mile = $32, etc.)
If you would like to make a pledge, simply e-mail me at: DAKraning@aol.com. Let me know how much per mile you would like to pledge & I will send you back a confirmation. After the ride is completed, I will send you a reminder & you may make your tax deductible donation directly to CeCe’s fund either online or by telephone using a credit card or by mailing a check.

Thank You - David Kraning

Please consider sponsoring David and his two boys on this journey of love for their mom/grandmother with your prayers and finances. Please also pray for CeCe's continued health and recovery.

I have been deeply touched by how all of their family has rallied around CeCe during her surgery and recovery process. She truly has been given a gift of new life.
