Giant Rats Sniff Out Land Mines in Africa



Training rats to sniff out mines in Africa.
Cheap, effective, powerfully creative, with great potential to save human life. Could help open up productive use of large swaths of currently unusable land. Who would have ever thought rats could be used to increase resource availability, preserve human capital, and decrease transaction costs in developing countries?

Rats are even being used to detect tuberculosis.
