Battle of the (e)Books

Earlier today, Barnes and Noble confirmed they were dropping the price of the 3G Nook to $199 and introducing a Wi-Fil only version for $149. In response, Amazon just dropped the price of the Kindle to $189 starting immediately -- nearly 30% off and about half the price I paid for my Kindle a year-and-a-half ago.

I've said before that I thought the iPad made around $150 the right price for dedicated eReaders. Looks like the manufacturers are starting to agree.
