I picked up my ThinkPad from getting serviced at MicroCenter yesterday (it's still running slower than my netbook) and discovered they had dropped the price of last year's Daily Grind vertical laptop bag to $24.99. It was a deal I couldn't pass up. (I'd been eyeing the bag since I first saw it at an Apple Store about a year ago, when it was originally selling for $70.)
So far, I'm very impressed with the build and quality of the bag. I have a Patagonia fleece jacket that has (literally) been around the world with me. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Patagonia products and hear the same from many other people.
Ali has been recommending I get this type of bag (vertical orientation) for some time now and I can see why he likes it. The Daily Grind easily holds my netbook, Kindle, and paper and pencils, power adapter, and umbrella. It's a tight fit, but I can also squeeze in one of my smaller case books. (I'm out of luck with Criminal Procedure.) I would easily fit a 13-inch MacBook Pro in lieu of my netbook and probably would hold a 15-inch too. The bag also has a zip-out water bottle holder. (The bottle holder is okay, but I've seen better.)
The Daily Grind comes in grey, black, and blue. Micro Center also has a number of other Patagonia bags at very low prices.
At $24.99, this bag is a steal.

Hmmm, I might get one as a non-laptop bag. But I don't want clutter. Let's see...
