Congratulations Dr. Diana Weinert!

Diana Weinert, my friend and classmate, just received her PhD today!
It's my great pleasure to announce to you the newly-minted Dr. Diana Weinert! Diana defended her doctoral dissertation, which an provides an entrepreneurial perspective on regulatory change in medieval Germany's brewing industry, this afternoon.

Diana's work expertly blends economic analysis and the history of Germany's brewing industry to illuminate the political economy of deregulation and re-regulation. One of her dissertation chapters has already been accepted for publication in Public Choice. Her other chapters are equally strong and ready for review.

Diana is joining the department of economics at Utah State University in the fall as an assistant professor. She is a superb economist and I feel honored and privelaged to have had the opportunity to serve as her dissertation chair. Dr. Weinert has a very bright career as a researcher and teacher ahead of her. I look forward to watching it unfold.
A big congratulations to Dr. Weinert! Diana and I started GMU's PhD program together. Why am I suddenly feeling like an underachiever?
