The Daily Dozen

  1. When is science helpful?
  2. Next year's netbooks: More battery life, more speed, and 1080p!
  3. The era of free markets.
  4. The Mumbai attack was the tip of the iceberg?
  5. Multitouch trackpad vs. touch screen computing.
  6. The devilish details of Detroit's deal.
  7. David Pogue rates the best digital cameras for under $300. Canon wins again.
  8. Would you lose weight for money? This study says yes.
  9. Executive MBA rankings by return-on-investment (ROI). My MBA alma mater, University of Florida, ranks #2. I did an ROI calculation on my professional MBA program last week and figured out I just need to make an extra $63 a month for 15 years to have made it worthwhile. My question is why would you trust an MBA who went to a school with a poor ROI?
  10. Trying to learn to be a better blogger is a waste of time.
  11. The most popular DSLR lenses. Eventually, I'd love to get the 50mm AF for low-light and portrait shots and the 18-200mm VR for all around use (and for travel) for my Nikon D40.
  12. Piezoelectrics could lead to voice-powered cellphones.
