Although, dogs are also perpetually hungry. As scavengers, dogs are programmed to always search for food, no matter their actual level of satiation. Cats, on the other hand, are hunters. Their kill is for the pleasure and less for the hunger. That's why household cats will kill a mouse and bring it to their owners as a token of affection. Dogs, on the other hand, will kill a bunny (for example), and take it apart and chew on it and what not.
Having had both dogs and cats, I am still a dog person because unlike cats, dogs always seem to be "there for you." That being said, there is nothing like watching a cat play for hours with anything at all that moves - a toy on a string, a drip in a faucet. Edmund Burke (my cat) chases the light shadows on the ceiling.
