Wouldn't it be great to have a President that is actually respected by other countries? Wouldn't that be an advantage, in everything from cooperating in fighting terrorists to working for mutual benefit economically?
It's sad that the Republicans succeeded with some in demonizing our allies like France, who turned out to be right after all with regards to Iraq.
We can't go it alone in the world and expect success. Throughout history, countries that try to act arrogantly and unilaterally end up having a fall.
I'll take restored American respect and prestige on the world stage any day.
But again, one tactic the Republicans use is to try to downplay and even ridicule that which is advantageous, whether it be good relationships with foreign countries or even basic intelligence.
