Remembering

Today is the sixth anniversary of September 11th. That day had a profound impact on me which ended up leading me to pursue a PhD in Economics after a trip to India. My journey into economics has now led me to law school. As I wrote last year:
Had September 11th never happened, I doubt I would have gone to India. Had I never gone to India, I doubt I would be working on my PhD right now.
Megan McArdle shares this poem in memory of the victims:
WITH rue my heart is laden
For golden friends I had,
For many a rose-lipt maiden
And many a lightfoot lad.

By brooks too broad for leaping
The lightfoot boys are laid;
The rose-lipt girls are sleeping
In fields where roses fade.
James Lileks remembers and Instapundit links to his posts from from September 11th.

My heart and prayers go out to those who lost loved ones on this day six years ago. The world continues on, but we are much poorer for the lives that were lost.

P.S. -- Here is coverage on the anniversary of 9/11 from CNN and The New York Times.
