Japanese Wooden Architecture

Here is a video about wooden architecture in Japan. I've visited Todaiji Temple (the world's largest wooden building) and Horyuji Temple (the world's oldest wooden buliding), both in Nara (the ancient captial of Japan).

The video does a great job explaining the unique structural engineering of Horyuji Temple, allowing it to survive numerous earthquakes over its 1,000+ year history.
