"After two years in Washington, I often long for the realism and sincerity of Hollywood." -- Fred Thompson
As I've written before, I'm very impressed with what I've seen of Fred Thompson so far. He is expected to officially announce his candidacy for the presidential race very soon. Will he be America's first ever blogger-in-chief?
If Republican Fred Thompson enters the presidential race next month as expected, the actor and former senator will be aiming to add another title to a crowded resume -- blogger-in-chief.
Thompson has been contributing frequently to conservative Web sites as he gears up for a 2008 presidential bid, posting thoughts on topics ranging from the French election to the Middle East and the immigration debate.
While the Internet and blogs are a basic cornerstone of any modern campaign communications strategy, Thompson has been notably enthusiastic about expressing his thoughts online.
I like that he is engaging the blogosphere the way he has. If he is as savy in other media outlets as this, he may be a force to be recokoned with.
Here is a video clip of Fred being interviewed at Stanford's Hoover Institution:

Professor Bainbridge likes Fred too. James Dobson doesn't. Dick Morris isn't quite so sure...

I like Fred too; he may be the one for the GOP to go with. He certainly has some great one liners, kind of like Reagan.
As for Dobson, I agree with that linked post: he's lost it big time. I tremendously respect him for his lifetime of ministry accomplishments, but he's made some very strange statements this political season. He needs to stick to what he knows, and keep his political views to himself.
