If that was indeed "proof" (note: Hilton Hotels have Conrad Hilton's bio in the nightstand, so what?), does that mean you would support or oppose environmentalism? I am confused.
There is no doubt that environmentalism, like any cause, can become a religion for some.
However, while I do know this is rather a tongue-in-cheek post for humor, I will take a more serious approach and say that the general cause of environmentalism is a noble one.
It is also wrong to conflate Al Gore's particular opinions and works with environmentalism in general.
We need to be responsible stewards of this earth and its resources; we have no right to abuse them.
There is no doubt that we as a species have a long way to go to improve on how well we take care of the environment.
