David Henderson at GMU

David Henderson, an economist at the Hoover Institution is visiting GMU for a month. He is the author of one of my all-time favorite books on economics, The Joy of Freedom. I met him for the first time this past Thursday and was excited to learn he will be here for a few more weeks.

I used Dr. Henderson's book as the basis for my Power Point presentation (see slide #6) when I taught economics to seminary students in India in 2003. This experience had tremendous influence on me coming back for my PhD.

I also corresponded with Dr. Henderson when I was trying to decide which PhD program to attend. He recommended me to come to GMU where I would have an enjoyable experience and work extra hard on getting published while I'm here. (So far I've followed the first part of his advice...)

I'm simply elated to have met him in person and hope to have a chance to get to know him a little better while he's here.
