After leaving Sushi Tomi, I went back to Brian and Nichols to do a little reading and computer work. Brian had told me his parents were coming into town to drop off some furniture for him and I was hoping to catch them before running out to dinner. I left thinking I had missed them, but passed a Penske moving van on my way out of the neighborhood. I decided to turn around and sure enough, it was them!
It was absolutely wonderful to see Brian's parents again. Brian's dad is a professor at the University of Florida and his mom and dad used to have me over once a semester when I was commuting up to Gainesville working on my MBA. They are both wonderful people and his mom is a fantastic cook! It was absolutely wonderful to have a chance to catch up with them again.
Some sad news was that Mrs. Randles' father had passed away recently. I met him when I was a groomsman at Brian and Nichol's wedding a couple years ago. Mrs. Randles said he really enjoyed meeting me at the wedding and that she had been forwarding all of my travel journals to him. (I e-mail my travelogues to friends and family when I travel.) She said her dad always loved reading them, which was very touching to me.
Brian has been truly blessed with a wonderful family. It has also worked out to be a blessing for me too because they all (Brian and Nichol included) spoil me completely.
