My friend, Mark, who is a missionary in Japan just posted this video of his son learning to ride a bike for the first time. Be sure to listen to them interviewing Josiah at the end of the clip:
Not to be outdone by his big Sis, Josiah (4) learned to ride his bike over the period of about 10 days. We found a good website that gave the winning strategy: Start with a very small bike, lower the seat all the way down, provide gloves and helmet (kids feel safer and will try harder), push the kid down a gentle slope have them focus on balancing (no pedalling), once they get this, add pedalling, and you're done!
