If speed-reading isn't your thing, you may have another option:
WikiSummaries is an online repository of collaborative book summaries.
WikiSummaries runs on MediaWiki (the open source software that powers Wikipedia), so you can basically think of WikiSummaries as the Wikipedia of book summaries. WikiSummaries is currently a bit scant on summaries, but, naturally, that's nothing a few dedicated users can't fix. If you're not keen on the potential misinformation that could be fairly easily inserted on such a site, you might also want to check out previously-mentioned LitSum. Or, you know, read the book.
Here are a few summaries that look interesting:
- Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking
- Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything
- Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap... and Others Don't
- Rich Dad, Poor Dad
- The Tipping Point
There's also one on Capitalism and Freedom, but it doesn't look as complete as the others.
