Give Kids the World Rated #1 Charity in Central FL!

Give Kids the World (GKTW) is a non-profit in Orlando, FL for terminally ill kids whose last wish is to see Mickey Mouse.  I was a weekly volunteer at GKTW for over 7 years.  I'd dress up like a wizard and go around with a giant rabbit (Mayor Clayton), doing magic tricks while tucking kids into bed.  These are some of my favorite memories.

I just got this wonderful e-mail from them today:

Give Kids The World is now the number-one rated charity in Florida, and among the top 20 highest rated non-profits overall in America.  The Orlando Sentinel has also selected Give Kids The World Village as one of the Top 100 Companies for Working Families for 2006.

GKTW is an incredible organization full of people with absolute hearts of gold.  To date, they have welcomed over 75,000 families from all 50 states and over 50 countries:

From the very first family who visited in 1986, to the families that are arriving at the gates of the Village today, thousands of Wish Families each year have enjoyed a few precious days away from hospitals, doctor visits and medical treatments. For one week, parents have the chance to see their children laughing and having fun, without worrying about doctors or hospitals. And kids get the opportunity to see their parents having fun and not worrying about money, appointments, or anything at all. United in their desire to be a family and to have fun, they relax in a special environment filled with laughter, joy and hugs.

I am elated to hear this news and wish GKTW and their mission continued success.  They have tangibly blessed more suffering children and families than any other organization I know.
