Windows Live Writer

This is my first post using new blogging software from Microsoft called Windows Live Writer:

Windows Live Writer is a desktop application that makes it easier to compose blog posts. Writer provides true WYSIWYG blog authoring, allowing you to know exactly what your post will look like before you publish it. Writer also knows the styles of your blog such as headings, fonts, colors, background images, paragraph spacing, margins and block quotes and enables you to edit your post using these styles.

So far, it looks fantastic! It's a WYSIWYG editor that will let you preview what it will look like on the web before you upload, allow you to work in WYSWIG or HTML modes, handles uploading of pictures (I hope -- I'm about to test this feature out), spell checker, and more. It's also compatible with Blogger. If this works as well as it looks like it might, this may speed up creating posts exponentially!

I'll write more on this after testing it out a bit.

You can download a free beta version from Microsoft's website.

Special thanks to Joe Carter for pointing this out!

P.S. -- It looks like the photo uploading doesn't work. BUMMER!!! I'll keep fooling with this to see if I can't figure out a work around... (I added the image after uploading the post.) Other than that, this software looks great!

P.P.S. -- It seems like there's some problems with editing posts after they've been posted. Could be operator error and something wrong with my settings, but the software set them up automatically, so I don't think I had the option to mess them up.

Here's a very favorable review of the software.
